What does SHIZEN HOME mean?

"Shizen" (自然) is a Japanese word that means "nature" or "natural." Combined with "Home," the name "SHIZEN HOME" suggests a focus on natural, eco-friendly, and sustainable products that are designed to create a healthier home environment. The name reflects our commitment to using natural ingredients and sustainable practices in our product offerings.

Are your products and packaging sustainable?

Absolutely! At SHIZEN HOME, sustainability is at the core of our mission. We use plant-derived and mineral ingredients in our formulas to ensure a minimal environmental impact. Our packaging includes glass bottles instead of plastic, with only the pumps made from plastic. Some of our packaging is fully compostable, and others can be disposed of with burnable garbage.

To further reduce plastic waste, we use paper honeycomb wrap for our bottles instead of plastic bubble wrap, and kraft paper instead of laminated paper containing plastic and PFAS. Additionally, our bottles and boxes are made from 100% post-consumer recycled (PCR) materials, helping to decrease our environmental footprint.

Please note: While our pumps and trigger sprays are reusable, they are not recyclable.

 OUR PRODUCT

Making your SHIZEN HOME product is as easy as 1-2-3:

  • Step 1: Prepare
  • Open the package and take out one tablet. Fill the Eco Bottle with warm water, or use any bottle by filling it with 300 ml of water.
  • Step 2: Dissolve
  • Drop the tablet into the water-filled bottle and let it fizz until completely dissolved. No need to shake or stir.
  • Step 3: Clean

Attach the spray nozzle, spray on the needed area, and wipe with a cloth until it sparkles.

How to use the Multi-surface cleaner: 

You can use our Multi-Surface Cleaner on a variety of surfaces including counters, sealed wood, and sealed stone such as marble, granite, quartz, travertine, and terrazzo. It's also suitable for use in kitchens, bathrooms, and on appliances. While it may not be as powerful as specialized grease or limescale cleaners, it's perfect for daily cleaning. If you're using it on windows, mirrors, or shiny surfaces, make sure to wipe them again with a wet cloth to prevent streaks.

Are your products vegan and cruelty-free?

Yes. Our products are 100% vegan and always cruelty-free.

Are your products safe for children and pets?

Yes, our products are carefully formulated to meet strict industry standards, ensuring they are safe for use in and around the home. While we include essential oils, their concentrations are kept below levels that might trigger allergies in sensitive individuals. However, if you have any concerns about potential reactions to any of our ingredients, we recommend testing the products before full use. We are committed to 100% transparency regarding all the ingredients we use. Please check on each product page and inside the product package for the full list of ingredients. 

If any adverse reactions occur, please discontinue use and consult your physician.

How long will one bottle of cleaner last?

The solution in our bottles should last you a similar length of time as a traditional cleaning spray bottle. How long one bottle's worth of solution lasts depends on how often you clean and how much you use, often dependent on the size of your home and family. We use high-quality natural ingredients in our products, but they are not certified organic.

Are your products disinfecting or antibacterial?

No, we do not make disinfectant or antibacterial claims. We avoid using biocides, commonly found in antibacterial products, as they do not align with our health and safety standards. At SHIZEN HOME, we focus on creating products that are effective while prioritizing human and environmental health. We use Thymol, a natural antimicrobial derived from thyme plants, which helps kill bacteria and viruses for a hygienic clean. Additionally, Lemongrass Essential Oil, sourced from the lemongrass plant, provides a pleasant fragrance and natural antibacterial properties to enhance cleaning power.

Are SHIZEN HOME products pH balanced?

Yes, our cleaning tablets are designed to be as effective as possible for each surface they are used on. This means each cleaner is optimally balanced in pH levels according to the surface. We use Tartaric Acid, derived from plants like grapes, to adjust the pH level of the cleaning solution, enhancing its effectiveness and stability.

Are your products septic safe?

All septic systems are different, but we don’t use solvents, chlorine bleach, or other harsh chemicals, all of which may cause septic system issues.

When will my pre-order ship?

Orders containing pre-order items will begin shipping within the timeframe communicated by our fulfillment team. You will receive email updates every step of the way, as well as confirmation as soon as your order ships.

Can I combine pre-order and in-stock items in the same order?

Yes, you can combine pre-order and currently in-stock items into one order, but please note that all items will be held to ship together once your pre-order item is available.

If you would like to receive the currently in-stock items in advance of your pre-order, please purchase them separately, as we are unable to split these types of orders. We appreciate your understanding.

How can I buy your products?

Currently, our products are exclusively available for purchase on Amazon.

When and where do I enter my discount code?

Do you offer gift wrapping?

Currently, we do not offer custom gift wrapping. However, we promise to add this option soon!

What is the shelf life of the products?

The shelf life of our products is 2 years. However, once the tablets are dissolved, the solution should be used within one year. Additionally, we advise using distilled, boiled, or mineral water to fill the Eco-Bottle. This is because tap water can contain microorganisms that may cause the solution to become smelly over time, and tap water is often alkaline.

What type of water should I use?

Tap water can contain microorganisms that may cause the solution to develop an unpleasant smell over time, similar to stagnant water left in a bottle. Additionally, the alkalinity of tap water might lead to limescale buildup on the spray nozzle, potentially causing it to become blocked.
